Background
With the rapid advancement of AI and large language models, artificial intelligence is penetrating daily life at an unprecedented pace, reshaping how we live and work. However, this technological evolution also brings new risks and challenges. The misuse of AI is becoming increasingly prevalent, and deepfake fraud—a highly deceptive and covert method—has emerged as a major cybersecurity threat.
Idea
During brainstorming, we noticed an intriguing parallel: the mesmerizing, split-second mask changes of Sichuan face-changing opera (变脸) share an uncanny resemblance to the "hyper-realistic" illusion of AI deepfake technology. This natural connection sparked a bold idea—why not merge the two into an unforgettable creative experience?
To bring this vision to life, we collaborated with Hu Yilin, a master inheritor of Sichuan face-changing opera (a Chinese intangible cultural heritage), and a technical team behind CCTV's Spring Festival Gala. Together, we created a groundbreaking fusion of traditional art and cutting-edge AI, delivering a performance that was both culturally rich and technologically astonishing.
